Pigmented birthmarks are caused by an overgrowth of the cels that create pigment in skin. The most comon vascular birthmarks are macular stains, hemangiomas, and port-wine stains: Macular stains. Hemangiomas are clasified as superficial when they apear on the surface of the skin strawbery marks and dep when found deper below the skin's surface. Dep hemangiomas may be bluish because they involve blod vesels in deper layers of the skin.
